South Africa's largest industrial company and one of the world's top five brewers, South African Breweries, made a US$362 million offering of ADSs into the US and internationally. The offering was conducted under Rule 144A and Regulation S. The lead managers were Robert Fleming and Cazenove & Co.
South African Breweries is advised by South African firm Werksmans and the London office of US firm Davis Polk & Wardwell. At Werksmans, the team was led by senior partner Tony Behrmann, with the support of two other senior commercial and corporate partners, Stephen Levenberg and Carl Stein. For Davis Polk, partner Paul Kumleben is assisted by associates Janet Anderson and Richard Baumann, with Jonathan Bennett handling tax matters. Stephen Filler and Brendan Guastella of Siller Wilk LLP are acting as special US counsel to the company.
