Market leader Phong Tran is the founding partner of Vietnamese firm VILAF. He is reputable in advising international businesses and banks on corporate restructuring and financing, share subscriptions, M&A transactions, export credit agency (ECA) and syndicated financing, asset financing, and project financing in Vietnam.
In the research period, Tran has been particularly busy advising on high-value project developments such as the Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant project and two coal-fired units of 660 MW capacity at the Van Phong 1 Thermal Power Plant.
On the equity side, Tran acted for issuers on bond issue, for example he led a major hospitality-recreation developer and operator in Vietnam on its issuance of an Exchangeable Sustainable Bond.
