About the Awards

IFLR's awards focus exclusively on legally innovative cross-border transactions. This work underpins the Deal, Team and Firm of the Year awards, which cover the capital markets, loans, M&A, private equity, project finance, restructuring, and structured finance and securitization.

Only deals that reached financial close in 2023 are eligible. Deals that have not closed before the end of December 2023 will not be considered. All deals must meet the cross-border criteria, unless otherwise stated.

IFLR also will be awarding rising stars, in-house lawyers and teams, and innovation in legal tech, net-zero transition, and financial regulation.

By focusing on innovation, the awards strive to recognise work that breaks new legal ground, develops the legal framework for cross-border corporate finance and improves the investment environment.

IFLR will consider the sophistication and complexity of the work and the impact of the legal innovation, as well as contextual challenges in execution, such as political risk. The size of the deal, media coverage, commercial success or the speed of the deal are not relevant.

We invite participants to nominate no more than three deals in any one deal of the year category.

Good luck!
