Christopher Hodgens

Chris is a partner at Atsumi & Sakai, Tokyo, and a new member of the firm’s cross-border M&A practice team. Prior to joining Atsumi & Sakai, he was a partner with Baker McKenzie, Tokyo.

Chris has over 25 years’ experience in cross-border M&A and other corporate and real estate transactions in Japan, and has helped leading global and international companies to acquire, divest, invest in, and operate a wide range of businesses in Japan.

His corporate M&A experience covers a diverse range of industries, such as data services, healthcare and life sciences, hotels, life insurance, real estate, retail, and telecommunications.

Chris has bachelor of arts (hons) and bachelor of law degrees from Monash University, Melbourne. He is admitted in the states of New South Wales and Victoria, and is registered as a foreign-qualified lawyer in Japan.
